We need to talk about... D365 Marketing... Social Media Integration

Next in my blog series on D365 Marketing is the capabilities provided by the solution relating to Social Media Integration.

Social Media is such an important part of any Marketing teams engagement with customers and creates a platform from which they can reach an even wider audience.

Often this engagement will need to use a lot of the same customer data and marketing collateral the marketing team use on existing channels already managed with D365 Marketing. So having the ability to manage a selection of social media channels as well really increases the functional scope within D365 Marketing.

So with D365 Marketing we can now manage social media integrations for the following platforms.

  • Facebook

  • Twitter

  • LinkedIn

  • Instagram

The start of the walkthrough begins within the Social Posts section of D365 Marketing app. From here we are presented with a calendar control which over time will be populated with live or scheduled posts, giving the marketing team full visibility of what has been posted to date, and what is due to be posted in the coming days.

In order to create and publish an actual post, we first need to integrate an account for the specific platform in mind. For the purpose of this article we are going to use LinkedIn.

This basic configuration will then redirect to a login screen for the LinkedIn account in question and then an authorisation pop up will appear.

Once authorisation has been granted we now have a new linked social media account to select from within the solution.

We can also complete the remainder details of the post, such as a content and any media we want to display as well. As you can see below, I can leverage the same content and collateral we have used on Marketing Pages, Forms and Emails elsewhere within this blog series.

The last thing to do is now post live or schedule for a later date and this is done using the Post Now or Schedule options from the ribbon.

But we are not finished with this post as we can now see insights and engagement levels with our posts directly within the solution.

We also get additional insights in terms of shared, reactions, impressions, likes, comments and additional click through rates.

And to give us that visibility we highlighted at the beginning of this post we can now see this post positioned on the calendar with some high level details of the platform and content of the post.

Hope you all enjoyed this post on the Release Wave 2 plans for 2021 for D365 Marketing Social Media Integration. I will continue this series with some additional content specifically related D365 Marketing. Take Care, Speak Soon!
