The Microsoft Power Platform features coming in the 2024 release wave 2 have been summarized in a separate release plan as well as a downloadable PDF
Administration and Experience
In the area of Administration and experience, the focus of updates for Power Pages are mainly on how security is managed and the ability for administrators to secure their sites better.
So a completely new set of security features now allows admins to restrict specific external authentication providers across all Power Page sites, offering greater control over external access to data.
This feature supports compliance and governance by ensuring that only approved authentication methods are used. These updates empower organisations to strengthen website security while aligning with governance policies.
This release wave also introduces a new "Security View" feature, providing admins with an overview of the security profile of their websites. This includes identifying sites with integrations, checking SSL certificate statuses, and monitoring security test results across the tenant.
These details help admins proactively address vulnerabilities, ensuring safer and more controlled site management. This update improves the security toolkit for Power Pages users.
Design Studio
Within the Design Studio this release wave officially makes the integrate of payment solutions into your websites available in a low code, no code approach. This new feature enables admins and makers to set up PCI-compliant payment systems quickly through the Power Pages design studio.
By integrating industry-leading payment providers, users can add payment functionality to multi-step forms with just a toggle. This feature simplifies transactions, ensuring secure and efficient handling of payments on your site.
A new Security Scan feature to has been added to safeguard your sites. This feature performs scans to identify potential vulnerabilities and security threats. After running a scan, admins receive a detailed report highlighting weaknesses and actionable suggestions to enhance your site's defences.
This feature allows admins to secure their sites, ensuring a compilant online experience for users.
Power Pages Copilot
Copilot is now available in a range of guises on our sites. Users can now enable AI-powered search summarisation, direct within any search lookups that are published to your sites. This helps with any self serve scenarios where users want to extract insights quickly and effectively.
Additionally, a new feedback system allows end users to provide thumbs-up or thumbs-down ratings on search results, with feedback data stored securely in Dataverse for continuous optimization.
Power Pages also has a new in-context Copilot, designed to make web content more accessible for users. This AI-driven tool generates summaries of web pages, allowing visitors to see key information at a glance without reading lengthy text. Users can also copy these summaries for sharing or citations.
Enabled by default for new sites, the feature enhances usability and user experience. Existing sites can activate it through the setup workspace.
